About the wooden trophies:
We LOVE providing unique experiences and doing the little things in an extraordinary way! The trophies for our overall top 3 winners in each distance for the Prairie Dog Race Series are killer! We partnered with local artist Randy, from As Eye Saw It, to provide our fastest racers with one of the most unique pieces around. Harvested in southern Colorado by these local artisans, the ancient Juniper wood trophies create a timeless keepsake. Taken from dead and down trees and polished in a way to preserve the naturally occurring lichen, this will be a centerpiece of your trophy display or "ego-shelf"! Samples of this wood taken to the University of Arizona Laboratory of tree-ring research have dated the wood at 800 years and the carbon dating goes back at least 1600 years!
What is lichen? A living organism that take hundreds of years to grow to the substantial size you'll notice on your trophy! Winners should maintain these trophies by using a natural wood oil every few months to keep their beauty intact!
We're so proud to present these at all our 2016 Prairie Dog events!
